At Takahashi Laboratory, we study various issues related to economic development and environmental conservation in developing countries. Students can choose their research topics as they like. However, graduate students are highly encouraged to conduct fieldwork and econometric analysis for their master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation.
The seminars will be provided in English, and thus, foreign students are very welcome.
Students present their own research in periodic seminars. These seminars enable students to enhance their knowledge and research capabilities by acquiring skills in planning, fieldwork, data collection, quantitative analysis, thesis writing, and oral presentations. Before joining Takahashi Laboratory, master and doctoral students are required to have basic knowledge of econometrics.
Feel free to contact me by e-mail if you have any questions regarding the research opportunities in my laboratory.
I strongly recommend that you attach a 1-2 page research plan in your e-mail, especially if you are a graduate student.
You will select your supervisor AFTER entering the master’s program at Waseda University.
Therefore, please do NOT ask for my permission or recommendation BEFORE entering Waseda University.
Knowledge of econometrics is a must. You must have written a master’s thesis using econometric analysis.
In addition, a deep understanding of programming languages such as Stata, R, and Python is required.
To ensure fairness, I will not respond to emails for prior research consultation or consent.
